Carlyle & Thackery 14 Vol Leather New Century Library 1906 Thomas Nelson, Pubs. - $45 - (San Diego, CA)

First, we're not experts in the field of book collecting. So we'll do our best to describe. This is a set of 14 green leather-bound books from the New Century Library of Thomas Nelson and Sons. Acquired at a San Diego estate sale. The leather has a very soft texture and all the books are green though some color has faded on one or two. They are a collection of works by Wm. M. Thackary. Publication date is 1906. Each measures approximately 6" by 4". They appear as if they've never been read. Overall condition is very good with some sad marks on the leather left by former owners. There are several books with numbered stickers but we aren't sure why those were added. (Why do people insist on putting adhesives on leather? So sad.) In addition to the Thackary collection there is a single book by Thomas Carlyle also published by Nelson & Sons. It is titled The French Revolution and was published in 1902. It has some very lovely Art Nouveau decoration. As mentioned we're not experts, just readers.
