On my Hickok TV-7 tester they read 46/54 and 47/53. A reading of 32 would represent the minimum recommended value. These used Sylvania tubes are from 1970’s USA production. They feature ridge style gray plates, copper grid pins and halo getters. I set-tested these 12AX7’s in my Madison Fielding Pre-Amp and found them to perform well. The 12AX7 high-mu twin triode was introduced in 1947. Its design was based on the 6SL7. The European designation for the 12AX7 is ECC83. This tube type is common in the first stages of high-gain audio amplifiers.
