Antique French doll size Vernis Martin style green wooden chest or coffret. Hand painted with 18th century style vignettes, musical and hunting attributes, verdure scenes, scrolls, floral garlands, rings, bows, floral basket motifs and monogram ML or LM. The chest is lined with burgundy colored velvet and has it's original lock and key which works. The piece has taken on a wonderful faded grandeur air with some crackling , scratches and chips to the painted finish. This charming chest would make a perfect fashion doll accessory or a romantic boudoir finishing touch. 10 1/8 w x 5 3/4" d x 8" h. 19th century. If shipped by USPS, insurance will not show on the label. I pay a separate private co for insurance & all my items are insured.
