John Carleton Wiggins (American 1848-1932) Oil Painting On Board Cows Landscape - $2,999 - (Lakeland, FL)

You are bidding on an original landscape painting with 3 cows on board . This painting was purchased at a local Estate sale . It is in untouched original condition. There is a minor indent pushing up from the back of the board near the end below the signature as I tried to show in the photos. There is no missing board there, it is just sort of slightly pushed up, as if it sat on something blunt. There is one other spot as shown on the reverse, where there is a little missing cardboard along the edge of the board. You cannot see this from the front because the frame is covering this. It is on the very edge of the painting, not affecting anything. On the exact bottom right corner there is a tiny paint fleck as you can see in the photos. There is some crazing to the oil painting, but no loss of paint, and the paint is tight, and not going anywhere . The crazing may be the varnish, but I am not sure. This is not my area of expertise.Beautiful patina to this old painting. The board measures about 16 x 20 inches. Oak frame has normal old patina from age also.
