End of the Road Marathon and Half - N.A. - (Waterfall, PA)
What form will the Apocalypse take? Will it be Zombie hordes? Nuclear fallout? Alien invasion? Now you can see what the end of the world will look like when you run the End Of The Road Marathon and Half-Marathon. This truly unique race will take place on the famous Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike which you may remember from the 2009 apocalyptic movie “The Road.” This stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike was bypassed in 1968, leaving two tunnels and miles of road untouched by traffic for nearly 50yrs! Trivium has partnered with the Southern Allegheny Conservancy in order to raise funds to develop this abandoned road into a greenway so that runners and bikers can enjoy the route for years to come. While our water stops will be dressed up for the apocalypse and the awards will be appropriately themed, the event itself will be the height of modern professionally-managed racing for a half and full marathon on a unique road setting.
