Here we have a Revive Audio Modified: Classic Urei La-5 that works great and sounds excellent! This one sounds beutiful but shows some wear for its age with some of the script missing on the output control but looks good overall (see pics). Priced just right, With a full 90 day warranty! These units sound incredible with the modifications and sound great on Bass, vocals, room mics and more. The service one these, as with most of our modification services, increases the headroom of the unit, widens the frequency response, lowers the noise and increases the detail of the three dimensional image. One of the downfalls of this classic design is its slow, dirty Rc4136 opamps that are used thruout the circuit for audio amplification and buffering. These amps have a very poor Slew rate with high distortion and low headroom like a lot of vintage amps. The RC4136 is an obsolete opamp in terms of quality and implementation. On this unit we have modified both the input, output and buffer stages with Burr Brown high performance opamps in those positions for the utmost clarity and bandwidth.. Coupling and de-coupling is also performed throughout the circuit using premium parts for better frequency response, lower noise and more musicality. A full rec-ap is also performed as is a power supply modification. Finally calibration is performed for perfect tracking. These are wonderful sounding units with a lot of dynamic range and big bottom end. This unit has been checked out by our tech and is good to go...It is ready to go from our door to yours!
