The "General" steam locomotive kit - $88 - (Rome, GA)

This vintage kit of the famous steam locomotive, the General, of Civil War fame was produced in 1980 according to the printing on the box. The chipboard box shows some sign of wear as it is 36 years old. One of the plastic bags containing parts has been opened, but the seller assured me all the parts were present. If any parts should be missing, I have spare parts available and the capability to produce new parts if needed. In addition to the kit, the auction includes the hardcover book "Stealing the General" by Russell S. Bonds. The book is in excellent condition and contains 444 pages with many pictures, a new, never-played DVD of the silent movie " The General" first made in 1927 and starring Buster Keaton and a 11" X 17" B&W reprint of an original picture of the actual locomotive.
