My auction is for a genuine 1979 Gerber Baby Doll still attached in the original box. This 17 inch baby is so pretty with her rosy cheeks and lips and big blue movable eyes. She is dressed in a red & white gingham romper (not removable) and with an eyelet skirt and bib. The skirt and bib have yellowed a bit with age. Could possibly be washed and bleached, but I dared not to attempt it. The cellophane on the box is missing and the box does show wear from time. This beautiful baby was manufactured by the Atlanta Novelty Co. USA for Gerber in 1979, fifty one years after Gerber introduced their baby food line. She is designed after the Gerber baby trademark introduced in 1928. She has a soft polyester filled body and specially sculptured head, legs and arms. Her eyes are movable and are gravity controlled to be easily reset when moved. Original tags on doll.
