Paphiopedilum tranlienianum 'Mad Hatter' x 'Rogue sweetheart'This is a very fun and easy to grow miniature species found in N. Vietnam growing on near vertical limestone cliffs. Size of the plants can be a bit variable but will flower on fans less than 4? across. This is in my opinion is one of the most forgiving species of Paphiopedilum to cultivate taking a wide range of cultivation methods and thriving. Most importantly however the species is incredibly easy to flower and does not require any alteration in culture to flower such as a cool down or dry rest. The species has very unique flowers that are long lasting and a real treat to admire. The parents used in breeding are my best and have had the opportunity to flower many plants of this species. The parent plant 'mad hatter' has the largest flower of any I have seen and ' Rogue sweetheart' has perfect shape and blooms flat with great color. Both the parents are exceptional and these should fall right in line! The compot up for auction has approx. 15 plants, is in a 3.25" pot and the plants are ready to be individually potted. The seedlings range in size from approximately 2.5-3.5" in natural spread, most around 3". These seedlings have been incredibly vigorous and will be flowering size within 12-18 months.
