Shirley Temple Vintage 16” Doll by Ideal Toy Co For your inspection is a Shirley Temple doll so perfect she looks new She is wearing her original white dress with the red trim and polka dots from the 1934 movie, “Stand Up and Cheer”. The dress is perfect with no defects. There is aging to the dress so the white is not so white but otherwise in perfect condition She has her original white socks and undergarments and the classic red Mary Jane shoes She is a 1973 Ideal Co doll, 16 inches tall She has stationary brown painted eyes with fake eyelashes She has an open smiling mouth with white teeth Her body is hard plastic with movable legs and arms She has a vinyl head and rooted faux hair in the iconic long curls. She is still wearing the original hair net and red matching bow. The hair net was used only for shipping and usually tossed away but hers is intact She is marked on the back of the neck; 1972, 2M-5534-2, Ideal Toy Corp. In 1934, at the age of 6, Shirley Temple dimpled and danced her way into the hearts of millions with the movie, “Stand Up and Cheer”. This and a long list of additional movies began a long and profitable career that made her the most popular movie star of the Depression era. They were first in their industry to make hard plastic dolls after WW11 This doll was stored with other dolls by my aunt in a special glass front cabinet. All the others went to auction.
