Vintage Coca Cola Brown Bottle Block Letters Ouachita Valley Biedenharn Antique - $999 - (Lafayette, LA)
This is an original Coca-Cola brown bottle. "Coca-Cola" is written in block letters rather than script. It is imprinted with O.V.B.W. on the bottom. That's the mark for Ouachita Valley Bottling Works in Monroe, La. This is the Coca-Cola bottling company that was started by Joseph A. Biedenharn, the man who first began bottling Coca-Cola at his candy company in Vicksburg, MS. Along the bottom edge, "ROOT 540" can be seen. This bottle was made by the Root Glass Company, probably sometime between 1905 and 1916. It was previously owned by a family member who lived in north Louisiana. If you are an expert or collector with different or additional information, I welcome it, as I am not at Coca-Cola collector. I've only seen one other reference to a bottle like this one, and it was on an Internet message board. That bottle's neck/top was broken off. I truly have no idea of the value, but I welcome all offers and inquiries. The bottle will be shipped securely and insured for $10. Thanks for looking!
