MacAskill. The artist was born in St Peter, Cape Breton island in 1887 and was given his first camera at the age of thirteen. Years latter he studied photography in New York City and became a Fellow of the Photographic Society of America (FPSA). Its estimated he produced 5000 negatives of which approx. 500 were turned into prints for sale to the public. Offered today a fine photo depicting scene from Nova Scotia. The photo measures 9 1/2" wide by 8" high.The photo signed " W. R. MacAskill F. P. S. A. " front lower right margin and titled "PEGGY'S COVE N.S." front lower left The photo and frame / mount/glass are in good condition considering age. Ready to hang up and enjoy.
