Found & acquired in an old home where it was stored away for many many years we offer for your consideration a 1899 Dayton D P Clark Toy Co. Dayton hill climber locomotive that has a stamping on the back bottom that reads - PAT'D with a no. but cannot clearly make it out - Research shows that this Loco was patented in 1897 - This locomotive is mostly wooden with underside being a steel frame - Correct 9 spooked wheels - 4 pilot wheels - steel Cow Catcher - Cast iron Locomotive Bell on Boiler - Has the box type head light w/ original tin insert - Has no Tender but has the in between steel bracket for hooking up the Tender to the Loco & can be turned by hand to attach or detached the Tender from the Loco - Has the 2 original wheel push rods - The heavy steel fly wheel works very well - There is some surface rust on the under frame and wheels but not too bad at all - Overall for a Dayton toy that is 118 years old this beauty has survived decently with pain and wear loss - some scratches - No broken or repaired areas and this beautiful Dayton Locomotive is - in - as - is - found - collectible condition and would display itself very well - NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INCLUDING CANADA -
