Description This listing is for a beautiful woman's folk costume from the Myjava area of western Slovakia. The costume includes a skirt, apron, vest, blouse, and underskirt. One of the unique features of the costumes from this area of Slovakia is the lack of color with most costumes using only one color in addition to white (traditionally blue, black, or green). This gives the costumes a sophisticated look and draws attention to the fine embroidery and handmade bobbin lace on the blouse collar. This particular example is a modern reproduction made by ULUV and is perfectly suitable for wear and dancing. The costume is easy to care for and can be dry cleaned. This was brought back from Slovakia around 30 years ago and still looks like new. Even the skirt pleats are perfect with no creases or flat spots. The costume was worn a handful of times so you may notice an insignificant spot or wrinkle, but overall I rate this costume to be in excellent condition.
