This item is a gorgeous antique red iridescent bud vase with Alvin sterling overlay. Most likely Loetz. Inscribed in the silver is "PATENTED 3377 999/1000 FINE (followed by the Alvin marking). Etched into the bottom of the vase is the number 998 (or 866). The vase measures 4" in height. This is a stunning example - you won't be disappointed. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks.
