CG CONN 8D DOUBLE FRENCH HORN, NICKEL-SILVER - $2,200 - (Tacoma, WA)
Story: Greetings! This is a 1962 Conn 8D Double French Horn purchased from Theil's Music Shop in Longview, WA. I have been the owner since 2005. I have played in both symphonic and orchestra. I took this horn twice to All State band two years in a row; its sound was far richer than any Cannonball! I played it throughout college in the Klamath Symphony Orchestra. It has been regularly maintained to include deep cleans and re-threading. I had intentions of keeping in the family, but thought it could be used elsewhere. Its sound is both warm, vibrant, and only gets better with use. Serial number: K50317 Condition: Great. Minor dents on the main curvature of the horn do not impact performance. Light abrasions on the inside of the bell. Minor imperfections in lacquer in some areas of the horn do not affect its playability. Some visible wear in the keys due to heavy playing. Professionally cleaned and maintained. Included: Horn case, stock mouthpiece and a Giardineili mouthpiece retailing at $70.
