Work performed by Rich Ita’s Brass Workshop, Marietta, Georgia. III. Condition Details Finish: Original honey gold lacquer (95%) with Henri Selmer Paris engraving. Compression: Excellent Valves: Excellent Playability: Excellent Blemishes: Some lacquer wear but maintains a nice honey toned overall appearance. IV. Historical Background Henri Selmer Paris company is a French-based international family-owned enterprise, manufacturer of musical instruments based at Mantes-la-Ville near Paris, France. Henri Selmer and Alexandre founded Selmer and H&A Selmer. They took over the workshop of Adolphe Sax in 1928. and started making brass instruments at that time, first under the Sax name until 1933, then under the Millereau name until 1939, before using the Selmer name. The first K-Modified trumpet was manufactured in 1954. Selmer Paris should not be confused with Selmer London and Selmer USA,which were companies run under different ownership and manufacturing plants.
