Bakelite Rod Amber Orange Catalin 360 Grams 23 inch Bar Stock 7/8" - $70 - (Vinalhaven, ME)

A beautiful amber colored rod of Phenol-formaldehyde plastic, AKA Bakelite/Catalin. Each rod measures 23 inches long and 7/8" across and weighs approx 360 grams.. This is new, unused material and passes the hot water test with a strong formaldehyde smell. It has been polished and does not have an oxide layer, but with time it will develop the characteristic Bakelite patina and pass the simichrome test as well. There may be some small surface scuffs and inclusions, but no cracks.
