Day of the Dead Porcelain Doll Hand Painted Woman in Red Dress Sugar Skull OOAK - $60 - (Tularosa, NM)

A beautifully dressed lady in full costume prepared for a Day of the Dead Celebration. This doll is painted to look as if she were participating in a costume celebration with a painted sugar skull face and skeleton arms and legs stockings. Her cloths are decorated with little flowers and the clothes aren't removable. She has brown high heels that make her painted legs look nice with the skeleton feet disappearing into the existing shoe. She is made of porcelain but her body is made of cloth with a wire frame making her semi bendable 16 inches tall. This beauty is a 1989 Heritage Mint Victoria Series porcelain doll that was acquired just for painting into this lovely character. Day of the Dead Celebrations are always intended to be happy(not scary, sad,or gloomy) and celebrate the remembrance of the loved ones that have passed away by recalling the loved ones personality and favorites( like food,etc.), dwelling on the positive and loving elements rather the grim demise we eventually face we die.
