Old Signed Louis Vuitton Motor Trunk - $1,475 - (Winterport, ME)
Recently found here in coastal Maine. An old original black canvas Louis Vuitton Motor Trunk. It dates the first part of the 20thC. Very solid and sturdy, it is fully signed in several places, and with nearly all the bronze tacks signed Louis Vuitton. Locks are marked either Louis Vuitton or LV. Heavy bronze handles are of course all original. Paper label with serial number on the interior. Measures 35" x 19" x 9.5" . It is in used estate condition and its overall condition is not too bad: as seen in the photos the black canvas shows some wear most noticeable on corners on edges; canvas on very back of trunk near base is bubbled up ; 2 outside brass locks on the front of the trunk are missing their locking mechanism. Some soiling and staining to interior. This was an expensive trunk in its day and only the most affluent owned one. If I've charged too much for shipping, I'll will refund the difference.
