It is assumed that they are sluicing for gold, but unsure. Photos show miners digging, sluice troughs (conduits), pressure water mining and one shows the day's fish catch. Great group of photos showing the way they did it then, which is still done today in some areas. 10 Photos are approx. 3-3/16" high x 5-1/2" wide and 4 photos are approx. 5" wide. All have some light curling on edges and some are darker than others. All have some signs of handling on edges and corners and a couple have some light stains.
