Britannia Standard Silver Hanoverian Rat-tail Tablespoon, London c1710 - $88 - (Marblehead, MA)

A good Hanoverian Britannia standard rat-tail silver tablespoon made in London by an unknown maker in 1709 or 1711. The Britannia mark and the lion's head erased are both excellent but the date letter is ambiguous and the maker's mark is mostly erased. There are a set of wedding initials engraved to the handle (see photographs). L: 7 3/4in/19.5cm; W: 53g.
