Lionel Reading 4-4-2 Steam Engine & Tender # 8402, &, FREE Switcher Gift - $170 - (Yauco, PR)
Hi, got this handsome steamer, when Lionel back in the eighties began to issues die cast engines. This Readings Line Steam Engine 4-4-2, and, tender was one of the first locomotors to come out. It probably got run not even a dozen times, as it took so long to prepare the layout & buildings, along with the eight Pennsylvania passenger cars it pulled, along with other engines & cars that competed for running time(that it quickly got put away). Last time I ran it was before the end of the last decade, it worked & has been in storage since then, with plastic wrap around the box(to help protect it from the weather in the tropics). Near mint. Over the years I have been selling my train engines & cars, and, no longer have the transformer(s) that I used too run the engines, so I cannot test them anymore. Features a die cast body(chassis & wheels), F-N-R, plastic tender has a mechanical not electronic chugging steam sound, all sales are final, AS IS. P&H a flat $30.00 USPS Parcel Post, only lower 48 states & P.R. & V.I. The first pic. & second is of the Reading Steam engine & tender, the third is the FREE gift, a DC Powered Laser Steam Switcher #8161 repainted in a blue Santa-Fe livery(it worked last time I ran it years ago, cannot be run on a AC transformer!). Blue switcher can be seen on third photo, thanks for looking!
