DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a very beautiful Fine Original Ornately Framed Hudson River School Oil on Canvas Painting in an Elaborate Gold Frame. Depicts a boy fishing at a river with a settlement in the background. Excellent subject matter by a skilled artist with a great look. An excellent example of Hudson River School work in the manner of Asher Brown Durand. CONDITION: Painting is in good condition some wear, scuffs and loss to frame, some scratches and abrasions/loss to painting consistent with age, large superficial scratches and gouge to left of image shown in closeup pictures, craquelure upper right, see photos taken under artificial and natural lighting. Overall, an good condition painting for the age and could be hung and displayed as is as I would say its its in good to very good condition. It measures total in frame at 19 1/2" x 17" with the painting at 11" x 13 1/2".
