Listed 1957 F Scarpa Italy Johannesburg oil painting modern WHOLESALE PRICE - $225 - (Edwards, CA)
(I am listing paintings on 3 day sale durations...as I believe most art only gets looked at as it first comes onto ebay. So I will continue to get this in front of fresh eyes every 3 days... as opposed to running a sale for 30 days... until the right person sees it.) 14" x 18" (actual painting image size) oil on masonite board by the listed Italian painter F. Scarpa. Signed and dated "F. Scarpa" and titled "(illegible) Market '57" below. The letter "r" in market, and in his name, are written the same way, if you look closely. Just not sure what market. He has had paintings sell for over $1500 at auction... 'Venezia' by F. Scarpa sold for $1600 at Christie's South Kensington 'British and Continental Pictures' sale in 2005. See image of it below... a rather ho-hum painting. This one, though similar in style, has figures, a busy street, and is a much better, more "modern" looking, work. An art dealer in Johannesburg would buy it at this price... Can ship much less expensively without frame. That would make it about 4 lbs shipped from zip code 93523.... so $50-$60 to South Africa.
