Sgt Saunders Combat TV Series US Army WWII custom 1/6 12" figure - $75 - (Osage City, KS)
This is a custom 1/6 scale, 12" figure commemorating one of the best characters on a television series in the history of television, Sgt. Chip Saunders. The tv series was Combat. Combat originally aired on ABC from 1962 until 1967. Combat was the story of a squad of soldiers in WWII during the European Theatre from D-Day throughout the war. Sgt Chip Saunders was played by Vic Morrow. This series received much acclaim for being a very realistic(German soldiers for the most part spoke German), believable portrayal of what WWII was like through the eyes of K company of the 361st. Saunders (Morrow)was squad leader and rotated the lead each week with Lt. Gil Hanley (portrayed by Rick Jason) platoon leader. Morrow, Jason, and the rest of the cast were very believable in their rolls as soldiers trying to hang on to their identity while facing the horrors of war. Combat offered great stories on a weekly basis, some of which are still classics. please note while this figure does not look exactly like Saunders/Morrow there is a bit of a resemblance. This figure is designed mainly for display purposes for the TV/WWII history buff. please note that this figure is not quite as articulate/poseable as some figures but still displays well.This would make a nice addition to any collection.
