very rare victorian paperweight oil lamp - $275 - (Raleigh, NC)

This is a late 1800's hand blown oil lamp that is also a paperweight. I have been collecting oil lamps for many years and I have never seen one of these. It has a late 1800's Taplin-Brown collar, an early Miller lip burner and an applied handle. The neck is fire polished and drawn into the collar consistent with lamps from this period.The oil reservoir is small suggesting that the lamp was likely made more for beauty rather than function.
