This instrument plays very well, and was made during the golden years of Conn's Elkhart factory production. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are some small dings and pings throughout the horn and patches of light wavyness on the bell section. There are also some areas of fairly deep scratching and light pitting throughout the horn. The slide action is quite good and very playable, but there are some small imperfections in the tubes and if you are highly particular about your slide you may want to have these addressed. The stockings are in good condition and the slide has excellent compression, but there are a few small patches of "Conn wear". This horn is not lacquered; therefore, fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina.
