For your consideration is a rare, vintage 1966 Hofner 500/1 Beatle bass, in good cosmetic and working condition. The pot codes (250K 306) date this bass to 1966, with the pots dating the 30th week of 1966 (please see pics).The bass shows honest playwear upon close inspection (please see pics above in Ebay’s hosted pics, and below after this description), with no cracks (other than finish cracks), breaks or repairs.Super light and of course a wonderfully toneful instrument, this bass sounds amazing, with all original electronics and pickups.The pickguard is missing and the tuners have been changed.The action is medium but plays well particularly at first few positions. We have not adjusted the truss rod but will do some slight adjustments (1/4 turn per day to let it set) after Christmas break if the bass has not sold. It’d be tough to find another ’66 Beatle bass at this price point and we think this is in a fair range considering the neck may need a reset at some point down the line (it's an easy bass to play regardless).Included is a same era chipboard case, for added protection in shipping (we detune and pack inside and outside the case for a safe journey).Looking for an early Hofner Beatle but don’t want to break the bank?
