Drilled Well 2" Bucket - Bailer for getting water during a power outage - $30 - (Wiscasset, ME)
This is a very simple drilled well bucket or bailer to be used during a power outage. It is made of 40" of 2" PVC sch 40 pipe with a check valve at the bottom. The outside measurement of the check valve is 2 3/4" in diameter. This allows the bucket to slip past the pitless adapter, pipes and wires that are in the well casing. I recommended turning off the power to the pump before using this device. The bucket holds about 2 quarts of water and is emptied from the top. There is a twine loop at the top of the bucket to attach your rope to. After removing the cap of the well drop the bucket down past the pitless and lower the bucket down to the water level. Let it sink and then pull it back up and empty the water in a suitable container. Coil the rope in another container like a clean 5 gallon plastic bucket as you bring it up to prevent getting dirt into your well. This is a very simple device to get water during an emergency situation. I also sell just the check valve and you can make your own bailer using PVC pipe from a hardware store.
