Vintage 1960's Working Electric Clock Featuring a Ticker Tape Machine ReplicaThis black and gold-colored metal clock is truly RARE and in working condition. We have plugged this in for three days and it keeps perfect time. In the 1960's, the use of ticker tapes was replaced with faster-working computers,so replicas were built and sold for various uses. This one is made into an electric clock. (FYI...others were made into scotch tape dispensers or cigarette lighters.)This item was made in 1966, so it is 51 yrs old. The ticker paper is in tact. This has been carefully stored for decades in a non-smoking environment & has no rust.The gears are not movable, but the springs are real.On the side is a clear window where the time is displayed. Super Cool!There is also a plain brass-looking plaque with wear/spots. The clock's size is 7 1/4 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. On the underside is a white sticker with this info:UNIVERSAL CLOCKMODEL TTDC c 1966117V-60CY-2 WATTS To set the clock, you twist a mechanism on the underside (EASY!).The cord is 5 ft 3 inches long with 2 prongs, and it weighs 1lb 14ozs.
