Antique Restored Refinished Camelback Steamer Trunk Tray Inserts Lock and Key - $329 - (O'fallon, IL)

Restored and refinished antique steamer trunk. The exterior was stripped, painted, and finished with a protective sealant. The interior was also stripped and finished. We kept the interior lid paper and original print. We replaced the leather and added a new tray lid, decorated with reproduction prints of period-appropriate lithographs. This trunk has rare latches to close the lid, thin wooden slats, and a working star lock with key. We bought this from an older couple in St. Louis; the trunk had been in the family for decades, but they no longer wanted to keep it as they were moving into assisted care living.
