1897 Lehmann Motor Coach Kutsche Wind-Up Car - Works!!! - $350 - (Clarksville, VA)

Here is your opportunity to own a truly wonderful and rare Lehmann toy from 1897!!! It is the tin litho Motor Coach Kutsche with driver and 5-position steering!! It will be hard to part with this particularly collectible and precious toy! The coach itself is red and black with gold spoke wheels. The Lehmann logo (EPL) is printed on both doors. On the back of the coach it is printed "Engl. Patent DRGM Made in Germany." The driver wears a blue coat, white pants and black boots. What makes this toy special is the steering rod -- you simply move the rod from one of the holes to another to adjust the steering from right, left or straight ahead. There is an attached wind-up key on the side. The wind-up mechanism still works and the wheels spin when wound. There are a few spots on the roof, but the color is all original and really looks excellent. Lehmann toys are so delightful and get a lot of attention from collectors!!
