Rare Antique Parlor Stove - $6,200 - (Sebastian, FL)

On the front of this parlor stove, there is a woman (mermaid?) gesturing toward two ships in the harbor while holding a wreath. The story behind this stove may be lost to history. It is adorned with flowers, birds, cherubs, lion faces, shells, and other filigree. The urn that tops it is just as extraordinary, with mermaids, flowers, faces and many more artistic designs. The cover of the urn has four lion faces and an acorn top. The words cast into it are “JBT Clutes Patent May 1846”. This stove is in excellent condition with crisp, clean castings. This is an outstanding work of art from a bygone era. Low & Co. Hudson River Foundry Albany, New York Patented May 1846 55”H x 34”W x 24”D To see more museum quality stoves, please visit rareantiquestoves.com.
