This Victorian valentine came with the yellow paper, but I don't know its history. It looks like the card was part of a display of valentines at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, NY. The paper says that the maker is unknown, but could possibly be Esther Howland, the woman who is credited with making the first valentine in the United States. This card can stand alone. It measures 7 inches by 4 1/2 inches. There are paper "springs" that along the paper lace to stand out from the card. Has not been signed. Will be shipped with insurance.
