MAGNIFICENT Vintage 1870's Red Green & Cheddar Sunflower Applique Antique Quilt! This crisp, sturdy cotton 1870's sunflower quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with hand embroidered accents and a wonderful swag border. It measures a generous 84" X 86" and is in mint, unwashed condition, with light age spotting in places, discoloration in much of the cheddar fabric (I haven't tried to clean this one) and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The quilting is excellent, with quilting around the applique and in close grid and double straight line designs quilted throughout at 8-10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are white, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
