ORIGINAL A.F. NEWELL FRUIT BASKET CRATE FROM PATENT OFFICE 1862 WITH PAPERS - $150 - (Manchester, IA)
What a find!! These don't come along very often so don't miss your opportunity to own this original wood and metal crate. It is my understanding the crate is the one submitted to the US Patent office which was approved on October 21, 1862, #36,723. It is around 7 3/4" X 8 1/4" X 7 1/2" and weighs around 2 & 1/2 lbs. Considering its age, it is in very good condition with some nicks, etc. Please refer to pictures. Shipping costs have been rising significantly. If I list a shipping cost and the item is shipped for less than billed (over $1 less) I will refund the difference. I require insurance on any purchase over $100. Shipping costs are for lower 48 states ONLY. I am not an expert but try to describe my items as completely and accurately as possible given the information I have before me.
