19th Century Staffordshire Child"s Plate "The New Pony" - $150 - (Cheraw, SC)
This is a beautiful 19th Century Child's ABC Staffordshire Plate named "The New Pony." It is in remarkable condition for its age with bright colors and no chips, cracks, or hairlines. A red band circles the plate. The letters are embossed around the plate. Polychrome plates, such as this one, were hand colored after the initial transfer was applied and then given a final firing. This plate can be found in the book "ABC Plates & Mugs" on page 42. This book is available and listed separately. I am offering this plate as a Buy It Now for less than I paid for it. I will also consider best offers. This would be a wonderful plate to add to a collection or a fantastic plate with which to begin an ABC Plate collection.
