sew46 Store Mintons China Works, Stoke on Trent, England 1868-1918 This antique tile is dated circa 1872-1875 according toTerrence Lockett's book: Collecting Victorian Tiles. It depicts a scene from Aesop's Fables "The Fox & The Crow" and the book describes it as a block printed design in brown upon a cream body. It has a glossy smooth surface. In good condition; has small edge chips/wear. Measures 6" square x 3/8" thick. We also have 2 tiles "The Tortoise Which Wished to Learn to Fly" listed separately-one a darker brown and one more reddish brown.
