Antique Cameo with 2 Diamonds Gold Ring S. Wechter & Co. Size 8 This ring has a hand carved cameo set in gold with round diamonds. The diamonds are about 3.11 mm making them about 12 carets each. The diamonds show as genuine using two different diamond testers. The gold tests 10k using a standard acid test. The cameo, under 10x magnification has striations, like straight tree rings, suggesting it is carved coral. The ring weighs 6.92 grams. The ring is marked with an inverted horse shoe surrounding a “W”, the mark of the S. Wechter & Co. Chicago which made jewelry during the early part of the last century – 20’s -30’s.
