Nice Vintage National NC-57 Receiver With Manual!!! - $130 - (Warrior, AL)

Now up for your consideration is a Nice Vintage National NC-57 Receiver! This receiver is in great cosmetic shape and will look great in your ham shack or man cave. It comes with the original manual! When I stored this radio over 2 years ago, it worked great. However, when I plugged it up and made it's picture for this listing, it did not receive well. It has a little hum and static, but does not receive any stations. As you tune across the band, you can tell they are there but the detector does not work right. Also, the AVC pulls the signal down when it is switched on and that sometimes indicates a problem in the detector stage. It had been re-capped when I got it and worked great. I suspect a tube (probably the detector/first audio) rather than a capacitor, but I don't have any tubes or time for another project. At my age I am more interested in downsizing and must start letting go of some of my treasures. So, don't miss this one. It is heavy (that's why they call them boat anchors!) and I will be happy to double box ship it but if you wish, but local pick up in North Alabama is also okay. I also plan to go to Dayton in May if I need to meet you somewhere along the way and save shipping charges. I have found that Fedex Ground or Fedex Home Delivery is the most economical method, but check all the shipping options and choose one that fits you best. Thanks for looking.
