Offered for bids is beautiful Kenwood TS-930S. This is part of an estate sale. This solid-state radio is by reputation a very capable and easy to use rig. All controls and indicators are on the front-panel. No clumsy menus to operate. Cosmetically, I’d give this radio a 10 out of 10. The original owner treasured this radio and took very good care of it. All controls and indicators work as expected. I can find no scratches on the cabinet or face. There is very minor wear from normal use. This would be a great addition to a collector but the rig is good enough to use as a primary transceiver. I tested this and initially found that the power supply was bad. The supply has been removed and replaced with a more robust commercial substitute. The photo of the interior chassis shows the power supply in the left rear side of the chassis, Phoenix Contact. Information regarding the replacement of the TS-930S power supply can be found on the net. Ebay won’t let me post a link here but a web search will show that this is a common and beneficial repair done on these radios. The replacement was done with care to insure that adequate cooling is provided and the unit is securely mounted. I tested the rig and find that it receives very well. I can hear a 1uv calibrated signal on all bands. It transmits full power on all bands. This rig comes with an SSB filter plus the optional CW filter. I made several contacts with the radio and got great signal reports. A 14-day return is offered on this item. If you find a problem with the rig you can return it per ebay return policy.
