Rare Vintage 1930's Art Deco Josephine Baker Style Cloth Boudoir Bed Doll - $600 - (Waterford, CT)

Fabulous one of a kind Josephine Baker look alike Boudoir Bed doll that is 2 die 4. She is in a fabulous dance costume made of an orange grass like confetti which does shed. She measures approx. 26" long and is in extremely remarkable condition. Her face is made of a composite with black painted eyes, rosy cheeks, and red pursed lips. Her black hair is made of the same material as her grass like costume. She is really a very special doll and very unique. She does not have any flaws and is so unusual. I believe the costume she has on was one that she danced in circa 1920's. She was born in Missouri and later moved to Germany in the 1920's. When the German government changed in the early 1920's , she moved to Paris and danced there a bit until Paris was taken over by the Germans. She joined the underground and was able to move around quite freely because she was well known and no one ever suspected she would be a spy. so, she was a very interesting and courageous person.
