Homestake Gold Mine Porcelain Shaft Signal Sign - $3,000 - (Casper, WY)

Up for auction is an authentic and vintage royal blue porcelain shaft or signal bell sign from Homestake Mining Company's Gold Mine located in Lead, South Dakota. The mine closed in 2002 and mining relics from this locality are becoming increasingly difficult to acquire. The sign is in spectacular shape with only two minor blemishes in the lower left hand quadrant of the sign. The mine used two shafts accessible from the surface, the Ross and Yates Shafts. The shaft name was predominantly absent from signs from the Homestake Mine, so this is a unique opportunity to own one from the Yates Shaft. The sign measure approximately 20 inches wide by 37.5 inches tall and is 1/16 of an inch thick. This sign is from my personal collection, please contact me with any questions.
