Rare Vintage Fireplace Andirons Cast Iron Horse Head with Brass Hoof - $875 - (Mountain Home, TX)
Beautiful Vintage - Rare Find! Perfect for equestrian estate or horse ranch or for the home of any horse lover! Pair of cast iron horse heads on brass horse hoof bases. A chain is attached to the brass bit rings joining the pair. There is a brass plate covering the semi-circle that attaches the andirons to the horizontal support bars that is held on by a small brass horse head finial. Circa early 1930's to 40's. No makers mark. Stamped 1919 on each horizontal support bar. One bar marked R one bar marked L. The length is approximately 23" long from front of hoof to end of horizontal support bar. approximately 16 1/2" tall. Each hoof measures approximately 4 1/2" wide. Each andiron with horizontal support bar weighs approximately 11 1/2 lbs not including the chain for a total weight of the pair approximately 24 lbs.
