Great Pair! Antique Prim Wooden Spools Bobbin Tiger Maple Birdseye Candlestick - $40 - (Great Bend, KS)

Here are two awesome wooden spools, spindles, or bobbins that date back to the time when the industrial textile mills in the United States were thriving. Both of these are gorgeous tiger maple--one with gobs and gobs of distinct eyes and the other with only a very few but with great stripes. Their "beehive" bases gives them a wonderful sculptural look. They will come "decorated" with green candle drippings..and what is left of the candles. I sold lots of textile spools back in the days when I had a shop...saved these for me! They are 10 1/4" x 2 5/8" across the base, 1 7/8" across the top with about 5/8" opening...perfect for taper candles, probably also for battery operated. They are in super condition--one was made with a bit of a flattened edge at top...both have expected light wear at base and one has larger area of wear. If you look real close there are some cut marks that are also from use. I put a finish on them about 20 years ago that brings out their great patina.
