Rare POPEYE COLORING PAINT BOOK vintage 1931 Mcloughlin Bros. - $429 - (Trenton, NJ)
Very unusual and rare POPEYE coloring book from the 1930s. The covers, however, do not mention Popeye at all. It does not look like it was rebound, so either the covers are supposed to go with the book, or there was a mistake at the factory. When looking up the item in the old catalog, the title, book number, book size and page count match. But there is no mention of Popeye in the catalog. From my own experience, I can recognize some of the images from other Popeye products. This is the earlier "pelican faced" Popeye. The first few pages have been colored in. There are tears on the edges of the cover. You can see much smaller tears on the pages that line up with those on the cover. Please look over photos to determine condition.
