Conn 6M VIII alto sax - $2,499 - (Elkton, MD)
Offered here is a gorgeous example of a World War II Conn 6M VIII professional Alto Saxophone. It is a one owner horn in it’s original lacquer still standing at 90%+ with a little honest lacquer wear here & there being its only anomaly. Per the Conn serial number chart it was manufactured in late 1941 (298K serial number). As you probably know, these horns were some of the finest Altos Conn ever produced & some of the finest Altos in existence period including the 80K Mark VI’s for a fraction of the cost. In this condition they are pretty scarce. The engraving is in beautiful shape and is sharp as a tack. Haunting medical bills prompt the sale of this gem. It plays pretty well on the older pads it currently sports but you may want to bring it to your tech for some fine tuning & to set it up to your personal preferences. As you can see in the pics, it has the Rolled Tone holes & the microtuner on the original neck with the under slung octave key. The VIII stamp is present on the back of the body as well as on the front of the neck as it should be. The horn will come in a used but very functional pro-tec zippered hard case. Please ask me any questions you might have. Paypal friends & family is required for payment or you may tick the box that you will pay the Paypal fee. Buyer pays shipping or if locale permits you may pick up the horn in person for Free.
