The No 38 is a fully balanced preamp throughout all stages. Most balanced preamplifiers convert a balanced signal to single ended for the gain state, then back to balanced for the output stage. The No 38 has identical circuits for each half of the balanced signal, with the audio circuits isolated from the power supple. The unit has ML's communication link which syncs with other ML 30-series components.
