RCA BERKSHIRE HiFi Tube Vintage Radio Receiver 6L6G Amplifier & Tuner MEGA RARE - $2,500 - (Easley, SC)

This high fidelity RCA Berkshire line was made for the very wealthy. There is a great write up at antiqueradio about the history so I won't go into all the details, but very few still exist. The amplifier and tuner were pulled from the original cabinet and is being sold untested AS-IS. It makes more sense to sell them together. All the tubes appear intact but I have not tested any. Most all in the radio appear to be original rca. I polished each of the covers as well as most of the chrome I could easily access. So it obviously may need some more detail work but I knocked a lot out. The radio front panel is very nice compared to others I have seen. The hazy stuff is not scratches just some residue as it needs the right type of polish. The wiring was cut but you should be able to trace the colors to match up. Both the radio and the amplifier still have the fat plug mostly intact. Both fuses in the amp section have not been blown nor have I tried plugging it in. My friend has the LC-1 speaker from the console, which he has listed himself. I also have a Thorens turntable that was pulled from the same console but is not part of this listing. The tuner weighs in at 60 lbs and the amp probably 100lbs or so. Which means I am going to offer this for local pickup only at this time. I may be able to meet you in Asheville, Charlotte, or Atlanta if that makes it easier but no guarantees. As with all vintage equipment especially these please consider them AS-IS and in need of full restoration.
